The bluejay is beautiful.
I'd like to make some felted birds this year, maybe to put in the Christmas tree at the end of the year.

This year I've challenged myself to make 1000 hats for charity.  I'm not sure if I'll make it, but I figure, even if I don't, I'll still end up making a LOT of hats.

Am I reading that correctly? One thousand hats this year? That's almost 3 per day. I'd hate making them long before I even reached 100, so more power to you!

You've read that correctly!  Wish me luck. lol

Oh wow! I read that wrong! I saw it, went, "oh one hundred hats? Good on her. That's a lot of hats for charity."

On being corrected, I think you might be slightly crazy (in the most wonderful way of course!) and deserve all the luck we could wish you!

First completed project!  Teeny octopus earrings!

Mad, mad, mad love for the octo earrings.  Those are so cute!  What adhesive did you use?  I have had a lot of trouble with getting my plastics to stick to my findings (when I am actually doing stuff- which is to say, not lately).

Oooh, I love the bird!  I have a friend of the family who is literally a millionaire, so I never know what to get her for gifts, but she loves putting corn out for the birds outside her window.  I think I know what she's getting next year...

Also, I'm starting to rethink my strategy of tackling the biggest, baddest WIP I had first.  I've worked on it for at least two hours every day since the beginning of the year and I'm just barely halfway done.  I don't want to get burnt out before I finish and then not move on to anything else.  Might have to throw together an easy t-shirt or something just to break it up.

Yes, Mel..they are quilted.  The batting inside helps absorb any liquids to protect the furniture.

I agree with your strategy, fishstix43!  You can get burned out or bored...I try to mix up fast and easy projects with large WIPS...with knitting, I like to have four or five projects going at once so I can work on whatever one suits me at the time...

And, sometimes....you just need a break, period!

I used E-6000.  Seems to be holding up just fine!  Smiley

I've taken to calling it Operation Crazypants. Grin
