The chess pie and tarts look yummy for the tummy!

Sheepblue...I love your adventures in weaving!  The one you sent to me is displayed with my native american art and pottery...it just seemed to fit right in....very nice work!

Oh wow Sheepblue, that is stunning! I think I have something like that pinned on my fiber board. I am a bit jelly. Grin Just lovely, really.

Lovely weaving.  I love the colors.

I finished my July offering for the Ongoing Hoopla Along.  This months theme was food.

I bought the cupcake pattern pack from Kimberly Ouimet on Etsy.

I also made these bacon pancakes that I have seen all over Pinterest for my kids this morning.  I didn't eat any but the kids liked them.

How can you go wrong with bacon?  Altho' I'm pleased to see you're serving a balanced meal; bacon with a side of cupcakes!

I love the colors of your weaving, SheepBlue. This latest one looks like a beautiful wall hanging.

I guess chess pie is a Southern thing originally, or English by way of the American South.  It's about the simplest kind of pie you can make -- melted butter, sugar, eggs and a pinch cornmeal to give a little crust.  I usually put in a tablespoon of cider vinegar to cut the mind boggling sweetness.  It's super easy, and really good with a scoop of ice cream and a cup of coffee.  This was a little more dressed up, with a slug of cream and a shot of lemon juice, and the rhubarb standing in for the vinegar.  Pretty good!

I never thought to cut the sweetness with a bit of cider vinegar...it is so sweet that it hurts my teeth to even think of it!

I am sure my hubby would rather have bacon pancakes than our usual blueberry ones...

Love your sweet cupcake hoop!

Last year we were on page 205 in April!!!

Seems like we are seeing a whole lot more projects this year, but maybe people are just balancing real life and internet life a lot better... Grin.

Just remember that we only have three weeks before the June/July challenge ends!

Any suggestions on how to motivate thy butts, let me know! Grin

Challenge entry:
1/2 gallon of brandied cherries that I made yesterday. I still have about 8 lbs. of cherries to deal with, so am going to preserve some in vodka, dehydrate some, freeze some, and make the rest into jelly or jam. Not sure which I'll like best so that's why I'm planning to preserve them in so many ways. I think these brandied cherries may ultimately become Cherries Jubilee over ice cream or pound cake in a month or so.

Some plain gift tags I received in the Box of Sunshine Swap, then what I did to them yesterday.

My most recent market bag. AIMR, I changed the pattern slightly. I made the handle 10 stitches across rather than 8 and put 4 hdc between petals on round 24 rather than 2 hdc. It opens the mouth of the bag up a little more and widening the handle gives more support to the top of the bag.
