I made this MAQ for my mom for Christmas. She is always trying to claim my swap MAQs, so I decided it was time to make her her own. It measures about 16" x 16". I am also still having fun with HSTs. Grin I used up the leftover strips from cutting the squares to make the binding. I like how it adds a bit of scrappiness to it. I wish the quilting was more symmetrical, but such is handmade. Wink

Thanks for looking! Smiley

That is adorable!  I've been wanting to make my friend a small hanging and you just gave me a great idea, especially since she likes hearts. Did you use a pattern or make it up yourself?

Thanks guys!

Homer- I knew what I wanted but couldnt quite figure out the right looking layout for the squares, so I did I quick Pinterest search to find a good layout. The solid squares are cut at 2.5" and obviously the HSTs have to be cute bigger, made, and then trimmed down to 2.5". This way they'll end up at 2". It came together pretty quick...well, it would have if I wasnt such a procrastinator Wink.

I really love this, such pretty colours.  I like the triple outline for the heart too.

I usually don't like the MAQs because they are all form and no function, but I really like this one! Maybe I should get into these so I can add some to my mini-art wall, which was formerly a hoopla wall but not totally accurate anymore. Oh, you inspire me and make me want to try new things. Thank you so much for adding beauty to things I never cared for before now!
