This is the ladybug rattle I made to go in my baby daughter’s Christmas stocking. I made up the pattern. The underside is just a knitted black square, the top is the red square. For both sides I did random rows of knit and purls. The head is a much smaller black square that I sewed up and stuffed to get what I wanted. The legs were just short rows which I sewed in half, each leg I purposely did at different lengths. The spots I sewed on after everything else was finished. I sewed all the pieces together, stuffed it with fibrefill, and added some Christmas bells to make it into a rattle.

I think it is very cute.  A treasured toy for years to come, I'm sure.
