I'm addicted to the 4x6 craft swaps where you get to make whatever you want in your own style as long as it is a 4x6 piece of art. That got me thinking, and I'm finally suggesting, what if we did something like that, but it was in the ONE TINY THING style.

The idea:
You create ONLY ONE craft in ANY MEDIUM YOU CHOOSE AND YOUR STYLE as long as it is 4x4x4 or smaller.  Yarn crafts? YES! Paper Crafts? YES! Clay crafts? Yes? Embroidery? YES!

What happens?
You would be assigned a partner, and you would send your craft to them during send-outs. In this way, it's like a secret swap--you won't know who your partner is, or when exactly you would receive, but the kicker is- you would have absolutely no idea what style of craft you would receive. It would totally random--like a grab bag!

Would anyone like to try this?

Sounds like fun!   I love these kind of swaps too.   Smiley

If we're only getting a mailing address how will we avoid using problematic items like allergens?   Some things are easy to take care of in partnering like cats or smoke, but what about common crafting supply allergies like wool or metal jewelry?     Could you send the allergies along with the mailing address after partnering so we could take that into account when crafting?     Smiley

I'll ask for allergies/allergens in the q and possible products you will use for your craft so if there is an allergy, it can be avoided, and pair you accordingly. Like the 4x6 swap, you can craft before sign ups even end because you'd be making something you want to make.

I'm guessing this will be a round robin style swap so the person you craft for is not the person sending to you, to maintain secrecy.

Yes, interested.  Smiley

Not necessarily.  In the 4x6 Art swap, sometimes the person you receive from is the person you sent to. The organizers of that varied how partners were, and that was fun. I think it will end up depending on how many join.

I'm glad their is interest. How does somewhere in the first few weeks of January work for the beginning of sign ups?  I'll probably do 2 weeks of sign ups and then 3 weeks of crafting time. Remember, you can start crafting during sign ups, or even now if you like. Your job is to come up with a OTT in your own medium to the best of your ability that you'd love to share with your secret partner.   It's never too early to start brainstorming!

Please list possible crafting mediums you will use: (ie, yarn, clay, jewelery, paper, etc)

This is intriguing to me.  I may be interested as well.  Just a suggestion - maybe just add to the questionnaire some questions about likes/dislikes too, so the sender can plan better.
