Hey craftsters,
I want to make a wallet for my Scottish cousin, but I know their paper money is crazy big, so I want to make sure it will fit.  Could one of the Brits here maybe measure a 20 pound note for me? (She's 14 so I doubt she'll have anything bigger in her wallet for a while).
Thanks!

I lived in Britain for a while in the 90s and their bills are slightly different sizes - the five pound notes are smaller than 10 and 20 pound notes, for instance - but I was able to use my American-size wallet no problem while I was living there.  So I would guess that you could just make it the same size as an American-money wallet and it would be fine.  Another thing to consider is that they use 1 pound coins (instead of bills) - so you might want to make a rather hefty change purse built in - cuz when I lived there I had a LOT of change alllll the time.

PS  I've been back pretty much yearly since I lived there and I haven't noticed any drastic changes in the money, so you should still be okay...   Smiley

well, neither me or my boyfriend are rich enough to have a 20 note in our wallets, but they're only very slightly bigger than 10 notes, and tenners are 5.7" x 3"
