It's a long story.

I cut (a LOT!) and sewed this up for my buddy, Sticker, for the most recent IYP swap.

Like I did with this one, I cut the design out of the top fabric (osnaburg in this case, AKA poor man's linen. Love it!) and sewed it onto a blue backing to help form the quasi-cathdral windows-y pattern. This time I washed and dried it before sending so I could see how the cut edges turned out.

Running my fingers over it felt niiiice  Grin and the washer didn't eat it! Yay and whew!

I used wonderunder on the other, previous cover to trace interlocking circles as cutting lines and adhere it to the blue before sewing. This one is bigger- bed-pillow sized -and since I didn't want a potential break where 2 wonderunder pieces met, I had to think of something else.

I ended up using freezer paper to draw the circles then peeled it off (careful not to stretch my fabric out of shape!) My precious, baby, do-NOT-eat-or-drink-or-breathe-near-it osnaburg was then spritzed with a 50/50 school glue/water mix and oh-so-nicely patted onto the blue.

It wasn't near as strong a bond as the wonderunder- and pins were needed -but it helped quite a bit! Definitely will use it again!

After appliquéing the front, I stitched it to the blind-hemmed lapped zipper back (here's a tutorial I made up for that.) The seam allowances were finished, the whole thing was washed and dried and, finally, photos were taken  Smiley

Thanks so much for looking!
