Many many months after completing this pineapple bordered afghan my husband was wondering how large a single pineapple would be with super bulky yarn, which I've been using a lot of lately.  The answer. About 12 inches using my 15mm hook.

Then, I pulled out some hand spun yarn I had received from a craft swap a while back, and made my medium sized pineapple, using a 5 mm hook. It works out to about 6 inches.

Then, hubby and I wondered how small it would be with thread yarn, so I pulled out some size 3, whipped up the smallest one, with my 1.80 mm hook, and it measures 3".

I completed four blue pineapples, added  a slight variation to a granny square in the middle to connect them, and voila! Here's a pretty pineapple centerpiece!



I just wanted to share because I thought it was fun.  Thanks for looking!

Actually, a friend of mine suggested making 4-5 of one size and then sewing/crocheting them together onto a granny square/hexagon and make a centerpiece for a table.  I have 2 out of blue, and going to see how many more I can make. Since it was hand spun, and a gift, I don't have anymore of that color when it runs out.
