Transfer collar pattern and quilting guidelines onto wash-off stabilizer. Sandwich velvet and quilt batting between stabilizer.

Arrange candy wrappers and affix to inside of stabilizer sandwich with washable basting strips. Pin layers together. Machine quilt.

Cut out collar.

Baste ribbon to corners. Cut velvet bias strip 4 cm wide and length of collar perimeter, plus 2 cm. Sew bias strip into a loop using 1cm seam allowance.

Place this join at the inner neck of collar. Sew bias strip to edge of collar, right sides together, gently stretching on the outside curve, and easing the strip on the inside curve. Clip and pivot at corners.

Turn bias strip to wrong side and hand sew in place.

Soak collar in cool water to remove the stabilizer. Blot with a towel and let dry.

Wear with your favourite top!
