I'm pretty enough for both of us.

(The after is at the bottom.)
While searching for an old t-shirt, I came across a favorite top from my college days (~1993).  I haven’t worn it since I got done with undergrad so it was in need of a makeover.  Please excuse the odd color combos here.  I didn’t feel like matching today.  Below is the before so you can see the fit to begin with.  It is a knitted silk top from Express.  The yarn is very thin in the lightest weight so you can probably use a knit top in any type of fabric.

Below is a diagram of my cuts.  It's the best I can do for a tutotial.  First, I cut down the middle front. Then I tried it on to figure out where I wanted the knot, which is right below the breast line and marked the bottom edge length.  I cut a line from the neckline to that knot point to create the v-neck part.  Next, (pretend the second photo is the backside) I cut across the back only from side seam to side seam. Finally, I cut from the side seam to the center bottom edge of the top.  To get the ruffled edge, I put the fabric taunt while I sewed the heamed edges.

After:

The bottom edge is ruffled not scalloped like the photo may look like.  Enjoy!  Wink

Wow, how cute! I want one of those... maybe I need to go find a sweater. Which will be hard, since it is summer and most of them are in the attic. Thanks for the tutorial!

Very cute wrap!  Creative makeover for a lonely old sweater.
Also (totally unrelated love the topic title.

Oh, it's just kittens.

I want to leave this world the way I came into it:  naked, screaming, and covered in someone else's blood.
