So, I love Hocus Pocus! If you haven't seen this movie, now it's time! Halloween is gone already, but it's ok, this movie is awesome! And there is a spellbook in the movie very creepy, but I love it. So I made a small replica (this book is only 15 cm tall) with an old book (you don't want to know which book it was LOL) paper mache and clay.
I will make another one soon, this one can not be opened so I want to make a actual book, so you can open it and read the spells Smiley
Hope you like it!
This is the movie book:

And here you are some pics of my book:

Thank you for your comments!

I was afraid the eye was not creepy, but when I finished the book my mom screamed when she came into the room, so I think it is creepy enough!

I love this movie too! I am amazed at what you accomplished with papier-mch.  I have seen similar books with an eye or eyes done in leather at my local renfair and wanted to try my hand at making one but never had the nerve. This is a great piece.

Very cool. How did you do the stitching? Did you actually stitch the cover with string?

I should have taken some pics of the process, but I think I can describe how I made it Smiley
I made a weird drawing with "Paint" haha

First, I made a strip with paper mache.
Painted a black line in the strip and the rest in brown color.
I stitched the strip with a different brown color thread, and then glue it to the cover. Finally painted the book in brown and added some details and touches of lighter brown.

Sorry for my bad English, I hope you can understand it  Cheesy

I think I just made a noise out loud when seeing this. I think I need this on my coffee table...

That would add a very sophisticated and creepy touch to your table...  Cheesy
