crazyda79 - What a beautiful butterfly canvas, and such a special meaning behind it.  Love the Mardi Gras wreath, too!  The pot pie looks absolutely delicious, and what cute free art pieces!

bunny1kenobi - Adorable bookmarks!  I love that idea for the library.

Battle/Challenge: February - Free Art
Team: Textbook
Bonus Points: 0
Project Name: Hearts for You
Project Page Link (if available): N/A
Brief Description: Oddly enough this project has nothing to do with Valentine's Day. I came up with this idea last year and have finally sat down to make some of these hearts. They will be distributed in random, public places for anyone to help themselves to. This project came about because I had an epiphany several months about a relationship from my past. The flood gates opened on something I had locked away and hadn't realized I'd been hanging onto. As it turns out I have immense guilt from a relationship that ended almost fifteen years ago. When this emotion flooded back I felt overwhelmed and helpless as this person is not in my life anymore and likely won't ever be. I had to find a creative way to deal with what I was feeling. In the end I came up with this project, to essentially put my heart out there into the world and hope that I could find peace again. I have come to a place of acceptance and have been able to move forward, but I still feel that the relationship is worth honoring and remembering with this gesture. So, this is the first batch of hearts that I will place around town beginning this weekend.
Thank you for sharing this moment with me.

What a sadly wonderful story, artsycandice. I am sorry for your loss of friend, but glad that you have worked through things and are on a path to feel better. I love your hearts, and what a great way to share love around your area. Random is good, but might I also suggest Nursing Homes? Many of those people are stuck there without contact with the world. And love textures and colors to touch. Just a thought.  Grin
