Research Project Proposal
Research Project Name: A Sunflower in Gormenghast
Team: Wordy
Brief Description:   Applique and embroidery of Fuchsia and the sunflower, using multiple fabric layers and embroidery floss.  Week 1: Composition  Week 2: Applique  Week 3: Embroidery.  This is something Ive wanted to make for six months or more, but kept putting it off as too difficult; maybe if I commit to it as a Research Project Ill finally do it.

Ludi, there's something even you think is difficult!?!?  Shocked Can not wait to see it!

Love the prompts, LovelyMiss! So many ideas...now to actually do them!

And then there's this...

Research Project Name: Blanket
Team: Randomizer
Brief Description: I got a bunch of Spoonflower fabric squares in an I Spy swap and then did nothing except admire their cuteness. Time to remedy that. I intend to utilize applique and tying in my blanket that may or may not qualify as a quilt. I'm probably going to drag my feet and whine a lot. I'm going to have to research batting and bindings. I'm going to moan about that too but I want this blanket and will, eventually, give it a shot. Submitting it as a research project will help, I think.  Smiley

Calabaza, having things as research projects have helped me finish a number of my more whiny, feet dragging projects!  And I agree, I'm excited to see your "DIFFICULT" project, Ludi!  My jaw drops every time you post something.  Cheesy

Great research project proposals!  I got them added to the list.  Good luck!

Research Project Name: The Forever Blanket #2
Team: Textbook
Brief Description: This particular research project will enable me to FINALLY finish up another blanket from one of the 12" Block-a-Month Crochetalongs (I have 3 out of 4 to finish). I have 2 blocks to finish (it should really be one, but the last block I made did not come out well at all...), and then I need to make sure they are all the same size and weave in any remaining tails. I also need to make sure that each block is finished with a round of the joining color. I plan to use the Flat Brain Join to connect them, so I'll need to count the number of stitches on each edge and calculate how many "loops" I'll need to make that joining method work. Then, I'll be able to join them! Finally, I'll add a border, and it will be done. It's a gift for my neighbor who recently moved, so I need to find her new address...

Timeline: I will be finishing the blocks during the Christmas break. Then, I'll work on the "math" part, during the month of January. End of January, beginning of February, I'll start the joining, with the goal of finishing it over the February break.

This will replace my "Hexagons of Happiness" research project... Smiley

It's a freezer paper stencil.  All cut by hand.  It was a challenge  to do those small letters...!
