I was super excited to see this challenge as just the week before I unearthed my (nearly) vintage collection of Kinder Surprise egg foil wrappers.  When I first moved to Canada, 20 years ago, I was fascinated by Kinder Surprise.  It wasn't about the chocolate (which I often just give to my Hub).  It was the toys, paper assembly instructions, the eggs themselves, and the nice heavy foil wrappers.  So I saved all of those things for many years.  Friends would bring their eggs over for me to unwrap, so they wouldn't get a dirty look for ruining their foils....anyway, enough about my obb/com collection habits...My plan for the foils was to cover a set of travel boxes, for my vitamins and sundries.  So this challenge gave me the incentive to actually do that LOL.  I thought I only had enough wrappers to do one box, but I ended up with enough to do them both...with one Kinder Surprise foil left over (and lots of little bits).

The fronts

My carefully flattened stack of foils.

The only progress shot I managed to take..

I thought I was done here, but decided I wanted less white showing, so I tore bits of the orange up and added it to cover more of the white.

It reminds me of some sort of odd cow pattern...if cows were orange and white with black writing and little blue spots Grin.  You can also see here that I decided to cover the handle with the silver side of the foils.

Here's the other side of the small box.

And there is the back of the large box and the top of the wee box.  I chose to not cover the small box handle because it is a nice chocolate brown (in real life) and it reminds me of the eggs themselves.

I'm quite happy with how they both came out, and it was nice to have a crafty way to carry all that boring stuff around on my recent trip to my folks.  I used the outdoor ModPodge to apply the foils, and I think I like it better then regular MP....though it still did need a coat of spray sealer to stop all the stickiness...
Thanks for looking Grin

EEP!  So many beautiful wrappers!  I love this.  I've never seen a Kinder in person.  I've always been fascinated by discussions of them, too. Cheesy

Thanks Kaz.  I'm super glad I spent time getting them all nice and flat when I started collecting them.  It made it go fast Grin.  If I had to flatten them all now, I'd still be flattening Grin

Thanks Lola Grin.  I do think this technique would be cute with other kinds of wrappers and foils.  A HERSHEY'S bar box would be adorable Grin

Oh, this is super-fun! I think its a brilliant idea to use them to create a design! For some reason, although I have never liked the chocolate that comes with these, looking at this design has always made me happy Grin

My new favourite are the really big ones they make for holidays Grin and again, this proves us "hoarders" right- you really CAN use everything you keep Wink

Great project, darling!

Yeah, I'm not fond of the choco either....I think it's the toys and the colors that have kept Kinder alive all this time....though the little bars with the philberts in them are yummy.

I haven't gotten one of the large ones yet...maybe this Christmas!  I'll get one for the Hub and he always gives me the toys anyway Grin

Thanks Sweetling Grin
