Note from the Deputy Headmistress...
~*Calling for Donations in the HPC's very own Diagon Alley!*~

What exactly is Diagon Alley you may ask?  It is a way for you to support the HPC, and advertise your crafty business at the same time.  Your Headmistresses are asking for donations of prizes that will be awarded during the End of Term Feast in the first week of March.  We will do prize drawings for completion of OWLS & NEWTS, Detention Projects, and Class Participation.  Anyone who donates an item will have a picture of it displayed in the Diagon Alley post on page 2 of the thread, as well as a link to their Etsy or Artfire shop for the rest of the semester.  You may donate a finished crafted item, a craft supply bundle, or a gift certificate to your shop. (If donating a gift certificate, it MUST be of sufficient value to allow the winner to purchase something from your shop without cost to themselves.)

Once the winner of that prize drawing is announced, you will be responsible for shipping it off to the winner.

If you are interested in donating a prize to the HPC, please send an Owl/Private Message to Mistress Jennie & pinkleo, listing what you are offering, and where you are willing to ship that item to.  You must include a picture or a link to a picture that we can use here in the thread, and the name of your shop & a link to it so that we may mention it in the post.  PLEASE DO NOT JUST POST THIS IN THE THREAD!

Let me repeat that....   PLEASE DO NOT JUST POST THIS IN THE THREAD!

Also please know that we do not expect everyone to participate in this call for prizes.  All of us have different things going on in our lives and all of us have different financial circumstances.   No one will be judged for not being involved, and you may always participate later if you wish.

Post Script from the Deputy Headmistress...

Dear friends of the HPC,
As you can see in my previous post we are again asking for donations for Diagon Alley prizes for the End of Term Feast.  This is something near and dear to my heart.  Both pinkleo & I love the End of Term Feast, and try hard to make it fun for everyone here in the HPC.  By offering prizes we hope to add more fun, joy, and the love of handmade items into the lives of everyone here.

Sadly, it is with a heavy heart that I must report that if we do not have some new donors for this semester, Headmistress Pinkleo & I will have to seriously consider either reducing the number of prizes, or even NOT offering prizes in future semesters.   Cry

Over the last few rounds of the HPC, as donations have dwindled, pinkleo & I have begun donating several prizes each, to make up the total number we give away.  We both do this out of love for all the folks here who make the HPC a wonderful place to share our work, but shipping costs on so many packages can add up, and it can be discouraging when everyone likes *receiving* prizes, but no one wants to donate them.  It seems that each semester when I ask for donations, the same few folks come out of the woodwork to help.  (I am exceptionally grateful to patty_o_furniture & noodle-bug who have been more than generous here, but we cannot expect them to do all of the donating.  Kiss)

If you do not have an Etsy shop you wish to promote, still consider donating in a way that fits within your own budget & circumstances.  We accept handmade items, HP themed items, and even Learn a New Craft Kits.  Craft Kits are an amazing way to help someone else learn a new craft, with very little cost to you.  Check out this post from last semester to see what constitutes a Complete Craft Kit

I ask you all to please consider donating in order to help us keep this awesome feature of the HPC going.

Sincerely,
Jennie

Jennie,

I will look into crafting something or prepare a Crafting kit for the end of semester raffle. Just have to look into things to figure out what I can do. Smiley

Having been a recipient of one of noodle-bug's prizes last semester I definitely would love to see this going on for future semesters.
