DOLLS!! <3

I LOVE Bleuette too! She's fantastic. I love her story. Really, rescued head from a treetopper?? You should post her in the RRR craftalong too! And the dress is very cute Smiley

Second, Théo's doll is coming along greatly. His face is perfect. The eyes just at the right place.

Erin, such a sad story! You have a beautiful heart Smiley

AD-Thank you! I like it too. I tried to make it the "manliest" I could! I love the cowl. I love the zig-zag effect.

Love the story on the Bluette doll! Never heard of it.

I rather like French names, though they've been rather bourgeois here in Flanders. I don't think I'd ever give a child of mine a French name, but they're so quaint. There's my friend Manon, and her friend Julie, my second cousin Eline, the ever popular Louise. Old standbys like Marie-Jeanne or Marie-Louise. The French really like making male names female by adding -ette or -ine by the way: Juliette (Jules), Jeanette and Jeanine (Jean), Georgette (Georges), Antoinette (Antoine), Charline (Charles) Francine (and Franceline and Françoise, from François) Clémentine (Clément), Jacqueline (Jacques), Josephine (Joseph), Henriette (Henri) Micheline (Michel) I also like Amandine and Madeleine, because they sound so tasty Tongue Marlène, Mireille, Michelle, Josianne, ...

I find it funny that the -ette and -ine suffixes to make a male name female, have actually led to the Dutch girl's names Jet and Ine. Tongue At least, I think it went that way, maybe they were originally compound names like Marie-Jeanne and Marie-Louise. Jules-Jette and Clément-Ine. I don't think it went that way though! I always find it strange that there's so few girls' names ending in -a in French,  while there are so many in our language! That's one of the reasons French names sound quaint Tongue

We do use name finishing by A. And the "ette" ones are clearly still out of trend (maybe in 15 years, when the massing "ette" ending named lady will be dead!) At least it is, here in Québec. The name trending is different in the old word Tongue

I think Clémentine would be a lovely name for a doll.  Smiley
