MamanTattoo ~ Do you know what the current Quidditch score is or do you wait until the end to tally points?
Yes!!  Now they are up to date. You can see the Quidditch situation anytime in the Quidditch Pitch. Sorry for the delay, with holidays and traveling and the cold!!!

Quidditch news:

Score is now Gryffindor:20 Ravenclaw:130!!!

Remember that any craft is is made to be given enter into making points (10 if you mark a goal, -10 to the other team if you send a bludger!)
And that any Quidditch relevant craft catches a snitch!
Also, Anyone can mark a goal OR send a bludger by making a house-related item, of any house.

If I missed something, please let me know!

I'm gonna cancel my current astronomy owl (the double sided baby blanket) - no biggie, except i really hate the design and can't abide even adapting it! I'll come up with something else to do for the twins  Grin

Whistlefish - the spray icing i have comes in an aerosol can, similar sort of idea to spray paint. If you have a michaels near you, they have it down their cake aisle near the edible glitters, and it comes in tons of colours.

Challenge: December detention
House: ravenclaw
Project: Ohm stitched laptop case
Link: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=430580.0

This laptop case is basically two giant TM patches, one with some 'mantra stitching' (circular spirals of blanket stitch), and the other plain except a couple of buttons. all the thread, fabric & trim was left over scraps from other projects

more pics in the project link. I figured I was getting pretty heavy with the photos here so I'm trying to be more selective!

Egads! You guys are rockin' the HPC! I feel I am terribly behind in commenting on all the projects, but know that I've seen each and every one and am always impressed with everyone's crafty abilities. Wow!

Class: Potions
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: Minty Marshmallows
Project Page Link (if available):Martha's Marshmallows and Marla's Pepermint Marshmallows
Brief Description: Homemade marshmallows most certainly need a watchful eye, and mine was right on that candy thermometer for an eternity. The actual marshmallow was Martha's recipe, but I rolled them in Marla's candy cane powdered sugar in the end. Alton helped.  Tongue

Challenge: Bertie Bott's Gravy
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: Arthur Rackham ATB
Brief Description: What is an ATB? That's what I asked a few days ago, and learned it is an Artist Trading Block or chunky ATC. Our lovely Headmistress Jennie knows all about them and I hope she shares hers here too! My beginner one was inspired by the beautiful art of Arthur Rackham.

Happy New Year everybody! Hope everyone is well and warm !

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Shield Charm
House: Gryffindor
Project Name: fingerless gloves
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description: So the guy came home during the holiday and forgot to bring gloves. What's a girl to do? Whip some up for him! This is the first time I've ever knitted anything that wasn't a hat or a scarf. It was kinda hard! I didn't really understand the pattern lol but once I finally got it and made one hand, the second hand was much easier.

pottermouth... We made marshmallows too! here's ours:

Challenge: ~*Have a Drink in the Hog's Head*~
House: Gryffindor
Quidditch: BLUGDER TO RAVENCLAW
Name: Yums!!
Desc: We made a batch of marshmallows to share with our familly center for the xmas party. They were awesome!!!

(copied from Martha's Stewart site)

Ingredients

Vegetable-oil cooking spray I used olive oil
    2 cups sugar
    1 tablespoon light corn syrup
4 packages (1/4 ounce each) unflavored gelatin
    3/4 teaspoon peppermint extract
    2 large egg whites
2 teaspoons red food coloring- I added green too!

Directions

    Step 1

Coat an 8-inch square pan with cooking spray; line bottom with parchment paper. Coat the parchment with cooking spray, and set pan aside. . Use your finger and sprend the oil around. Did you know there's propane in the caned stuff?? Anyway... Put sugar, corn syrup, and 3/4 cup water in a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring, until sugar is dissolved. Stop stirring; let mixture come to a boil. Raise heat to medium-high; cook until mixture registers 260 degrees on a candy thermometer.
    Step 2

Meanwhile, sprinkle gelatin over 3/4 cup water in a heatproof bowl; let stand 5 minutes to soften. Set the bowl with the gelatin mixture over a pan of simmering water; whisk constantly until gelatin is dissolved. Remove from heat, and stir in extract; set aside.
    Step 3

Beat egg whites in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the whisk attachment until stiff (but not dry) peaks form. Whisk gelatin mixture into sugar mixture; with mixer running, gradually add to egg whites. Mix on high speed until very thick, 12 to 15 minutes.
    Step 4

Pour mixture into lined pan. Working quickly, drop dots of red food coloring across surface of marshmallow. Using a toothpick, swirl food coloring into marshmallow to create a marbleized effect. Let marshmallow stand, uncovered, at room temperature until firm, at least 3 hours or overnight. Cut into squares.
