Proposing my first OWL! I'm excited!  Cheesy

OWL Subject & Option: Potions option 1
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Patchwork wallets
Brief Description: For my Potions OWL, I want to work with many different colors and patterns. I will sew 20 (more if I finish early) wallets of varying sizes, using a strip patchwork technique similar to my recent ornaments for the outside fabric. I will be using wallet patterns that I drafted myself. I hope to play around with many color combinations, and use up some scraps that have been piling up. My expected timeline goes something like this:

Week 1: gather fabrics and sort into color groups, cut and sew strips into patchwork blocks.
Week 2: sew more patchwork blocks, iron everything, cut out pattern pieces, preliminary piecing together of wallets
Week 3: lots of construction, sewing, turning, and ironing
Week 4: add button closures and any other finishing touches, photograph and edit photos

Class: History of Magic
House: Gryffindor &Daughter Inc.
Projet Name: Soap Snowman
Desc: We grated dove soap bar to make snowballs. But the fun didn't stop there! We shaped lovely snowmans, and once that done, we couldn't stop there either. I took out my beads supplies and here's the result:

I love how my daughter used buttons to make a necklace for the "mother" and flowers to make a crown!

*************

AD- I can't wait to see that, the ornaments are gorgeous.
Badwulf- I love the pattern you used, and clever choice of color

Thanks for the congrats on being featured! I wonder how they'll like our snowman soaps!

felicitybaby - Welcome!  I love your Christmas bunting!  I am not a big paper crafter, so even though I like the general shape and look of them, I didn't see myself making one anytime soon.  But a fabric one... why yes, I sure can get behind that project.  Wink

Acadian Driftwood - Your OWL is going to be great!  Your ornaments were killer, so I'll be super excited to see this project realized.  Good luck!

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Bertie Bott Bean Cranberry
    House: Hufflepuff
    Project Name: Elephant Cameo
    Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description: This is a crazy experiment to see if I could use J.B. Weld as a casting compound.  It worked, and I was able to remove it from the mold w/o damaging the mold.  There were air pockets that created unsightly holes in the cast, but it took a week to cure in the mold and I didn't have time to make another one.  It is painted white with red dots to pay homage to the different stages of the cranberry.  It's trimmed with gold leaf.

Thanks guys! I miss the HPC and crafting so much right now! I've had to *gasp* buy a bunch of Christmas presents due to lack of time!

I'm managing a store in a mall in December so... I'll be home for January!

(Hey, Alton, keep on keepin' on, man! Go Sytherin!)
I hear you!  (I do not miss my days as a manager of a mall store...not one bit! So I am sending you ((HUGS))!!!!)

I miss you HPCers!!! Kiss  I have spent most of the past few days teaching & shopping.  I am exhausted!  Anywho, I haven't forgot you fab peeps, and I can't wait for the holiday craze to pass (though I have so many events to go and prep for)

Thank you WhistleFish for my addresses.  Kiss

Mistress Jennie, I'm giving you a shout out of LOVE! Kiss I just couldn't keep it in! Grin

Alrighty, today was filled with my son's band competition, and my constant nervous waiting & fretting has left me in need of a little G&T and a visit from the Doctor. Cool
