~*NEWT PROPOSAL*~
NEWT Subject: Alchemy
House: Gryffindor!!
Project Name:  From Great Depths to Great Heights (part 1, possibly)
Brief Description: As we have recently moved, our new livingroom walls are totally different than our old place.  My parents (who helped us move and saw how atrocious our couch was) purchased my husband and I a new couch for Christmas yesterday!!  Shocked  I made several potential palettes for decorating our living space and asked my husband to choose which he liked best.  Predictably (and a bit sadly) he chose one with various blues, greens, grays, and black.

Obviously, this means it's high time I start my Alchemy project!  I will be producing 4 oil paintings that will be based (to varying degrees) on some gorgeous shots of space, water, mountains, etc.  My goal is to capture some of the beauty, energy, and amazing natural magic all around us.  While the elements can be magically altered and used, they can also be perfect as they are.

I will be abstaining from any fire paintings in case (as sometimes happens) my paintings turn real as I still have some difficulty with casting the Aguamenti charm.

Over time, I may add other, smaller pictures (I've collected at least 60 pictures I love so while I won't ever do nearly that many, I may do more than four).  Feel free to review my inspirational pictures here: http://www.pinterest.com/j4192/for-me-to-make/

Class: Divination
House; Ravenclaw
Project:
I saw spiders capturing pictures of the future in their webs, and so I used a new (to me) image transfer technique to capture these pictures on linen fabric, and then bound them in a little book with lace trim edging and an embroidered tag

the image transfer is done using gel medium (like for acrylic paints), on colour photocopies; cover the image generously, and press it onto the fabric. allow to dry and 'wash' the paper off to find the image.
The image comes out crisply, but it's in a sort of residue stuck to the fabric, like dried glue. so it's of limited use.

and
More embroidered handkerchiefs...

Challenge; house unity
House: ravenclaw
ravencalw and slytherin - unified in blue and green

Class: alchemy
House: ravenclaw
pure cotton fabric and pure cotton thread Smiley

Class: arithmancy
house: Ravenclaw
355 is helen's rollerderby number. believe me, she talks about skating so much it's definitely an everyday thing in my life!

Class: Apirition
House: Ravenclaw
i went to the north of england (York!) and made this to commemorate a girl I found there Wink

Arrrghh... still trying to figure out how best place my 2 items ... given it's a swap anyway, and my recipient won't get it until Christmas I have a bit longer to figure out what class I can use for them, I think! Onto the next one on Tuesday, I believe!! Smiley

Challenge: House Pride  Grin
House: Gryffindor!!

Onesie by me; hat by our Headmistress Pinkleo who kindly agreed to personal swap with me (and whom I have not sent off my package for so long now I deserve to be shot but I'll plead surprise moving and promise I'll get it shipped off tomorrow!).  Anyway, this is my friend's new baby Willow and they said of everything they got (and she's the first and probably only grandbaby on one side), this is far and away their favorite outfit.

Although they did also enjoy the other one I sent that read (I saw it online, I didn't come up with it):
This is my onesie
It has a haiku on it
My parents are nerds
