Huzzah! A fiber Friday that I'm home for and can post!!!!

Love that blue yarn, Bella, it's gorgeous!

Nothing special going on, fiberwise, for me. I got a Kromski Fantasia as an early Christmas present (and as True Blood fan, I keep calling it a Kromski Fangtasia, totally on accident!), and two pounds of wool came with it. I've been spinning that and playing around with Kool Aid dyeing.
The wool was just marked 'domestic wool'. I'm new to this still, so someone help me out- that just means it was from an animal raised/shorn here in the US, right? What on earth else could the domestic mean? Does it wear pearls and make dinner, possibly fold some laundry? 'Cause that would be a big help.  Wink

Anyhoo, here is my yarn dyed with Lemon-Lime Kool Aid:

I wanted to try food coloring for dyeing, but I don't have the propane setup for the turkey fryer so I can boil stuff outside. Heated vinegar is stinky, plus we just got an influx of mosquitoes (late in the season, but it IS Texas). Those sneaky bastards find their way in when I open the windows, even though they all have screens. So much for in-house vinegar based dyeing. Cheesy

Not a true fiber artist. I just use what I see and get. Sorry.  Undecided But this site seems to spell it out correctly.

If a domestic sheep will do my laundry, sign me up!i would assume that's why it's called domestic, that it's grown in the country you bought it from...

Thank you for the compliments! I've got 9.7 more ounces of that blue. I think I'll make more.

Your yarn looks amazing, Polly! Very bright and nicely spun. Thanks for posting it!

Gorgeous one and all! Think the Merino silk blend and the Llace weight llama are my favorites. Smiley

The lace weight, how much is the weight of the amount in the picture? What could be made from that amount? Socks? Sweater? Don't really know weights in relation to what you can make from an amount.

It would make a lovely scarf or shawl, or maybe some nice long mitts with an interesting pattern.  I'd not use that one for socks, it's to fine, and delicate for socks.

P3, nothing special? You got a wheel and it's nothing special? Am I reading this right? What the heck, girl? That green wool looks lovely.

Belladune, those batts all look scrumptious. Can't have too much Merino/silk in my opinion. Then again you can't really have too much any fiber so my opinion might not count. All of your spins are super awesome. If you have more of that blue you should totally spin it up to go with that one. The more that's the same the better as I've been learning in both trying to use and sell my yarns. I am really digging the gray/orange one but then again my son has me on a gray/orange kick right now. I need to make him a quilt to match that yarn. Hey, thanks for the fiber pron fix.

I have a couple yarns I've been meaning to post lately but, meh, life, and one of them I didn't even get pics of before it went away. Sad Maybe someday I'll get back into posting on FF. How I miss it.
