thanks for the tutorial!
i've been lurking for a while, but this is my first post.. great place you have here!
anyway, this is my take on the bag - i hope the picture works....

i really like the way it turned out. the lining is purple like the handles and there are some inside pockets as well. i'll add a shoulder strap as soon as i get some more of this fabric.
makes me want to travel more now.. Smiley

When I made the first version I didn't really know about interfacing so I didn't use any, and it worked! It depends what you're going to put in it I suppose, if it's just clothes then it should be fine without. I've made one since and interfaced each piece so that the bag stands up when there's nothing in it, I think other people who have made it have used interfacing.

Good Luck!

This is mines, i made it about a year ago but completely forgot to post pics. I
wish i didn't skip the interfacing step but it was just a sample bag. I'll
probaly go back and add that in when i have time<p>

I got a Janome sewing maching for x-mas and wanted to break it in. I found this website today and then this pattern. Smiley So..nevermind that I've sewn all of once before in my life i had to try it! With the help of my best friend we accomplished it!
