My sister asked me to make her a new Christmas stocking, and I saw a cute one out there somewhere in internet land for a stocking that could be made from one charm pack.  This is actually a project I started last year, but then I cut out two pieces that were not mirror images and well, that meant I had to redo & I ran out of time.   Roll Eyes  So I picked it back up again this year with the idea that I could finish before Thanksgiving & send it off to her.  In the meantime, she also asked me to make a stocking for her dog, which worked out nicely since I had the extra piece already cut out.   Wink  I just finished it today - here it is.

The little patchwork squares are "quilted" to a backing of fleece.  And then the top is white fleece with a reverse applique of a "J" (for Julie) and a paw print (for her dog).  The band is kind of wide because I felt like the patchwork part of the stocking wasn't quite big enough.  The stocking is also fully lined with white cotton.

I love it! And the prints are just a wonderful selection for this! And your paw is super cute, because dogs can't read, anyway  Grin And your stocking shape is just my style. With that bit of flair to it. I am sad when I see those store-bought stockings that have just the straight sides. I like mine more like a boot-with-a-foot-in-it, too. Great job. I am sure sis will be very pleased.  Wink I think you did grand with adding to the top. It balances things very well.

Oh, and I have also gotten carried away and made the same "mirror" mistake before, too. I have actually sometimes added "Don't forget to flip!" to some of my patterns.  Roll Eyes

Wanting 6" x 6" I spy panels. For a quilt like this:
To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.

Absolutely delightful.
The fabrics, the patchwork of tiny squares, the shape, everything is great.
