I come bearing pics of a plush that is neither Doctor Who nor Walking Dead! --Don't faint. Wink

I have been wanting to make a Spock doll since I made Merlin -- the haircut did it, I think. But I recently decided to tweak my 'pocket plush' pattern and decided Spock was the perfect test subject -- err, I mean character to make. Wink

I *had* to do the lens flares -- Star Trek fans will understand. Wink

He stands 12 inches tall, although thanks to my love of giving dolls over-sized heads, he doesn't actually stand on his own, but he has a handy little doll stand to help him.

I knew I had to give him individual, poseable fingers -- because he needs to be able to do the Live long and prosper salute, right? Right!

I think my favourite part of him may actually be his adorable little ears... I suddenly have an inexplicable desire to make an army of elf plushies. Wink

His face, rank sleeve stripes and his badge are all machine embroidered. I was worried about trying to embroider that tiny little badge with the holes in the design, especially on fleece, but my machine managed it pretty well. I was pleasantly surprised!

And there you have it! Mr. Spock! Thank you for stopping by and taking a look at my little guy, hope you like him. Smiley

How totally adorable. I am a trek-y from way back. I remember the hand thing...from when he had "hand S.E.X." with that other gal. Too cute.

Marvy idea and great job for your doll. Glad your embroidery machine worked out good for that style fabric.
There are a bunch of stabalizer backings that can help to embroider with on those pesky fabrics, some are water soluable, some tear away, some you just trim near the stitching on the back side. I worked nearly 8 years in the industry for this. I have played with just about every kind of backing and lining there is.

Great job! He is awful cute  Cheesy

Even though it's not Doctor Who or Walking Dead, I still knew it was one of yours from the thumbnail!  Grin  He is so amazing!  I love the lens flare, also.  You're too funny.

stillatthetop; thanks! I admit I have only had my machine for about a month now so I am definitely still at the "pick a stabilizer at random and cross my fingers and hope it works" stage. Wink Oh what I would give for your experience..

suereal; (love your username!) Thank you so much!

LovelyMiss; Aw, you're so sweet, thank you! Hee, I *knew* that if I was going to do a photomanipulation with him, there HAD to be lensflare.

acraftyjean; Hee! You're adorable, thank you! I'm touched you like him.

vincentvanbuck; Aww, thank you! You're too kind!

He's totally adorable and looks just like himself! Cheesy

You did an amazing job with his hands. I love his expression too!

My sister would go bug-nuts if she found this cutie under the Christmas tree. I'm guessing that many Spock fans feel the same!
