What did you use to seal it? Water color in the rain (Seattle here!) makes a white dress sad (I was going to say blue, but... Cheesy)

I was kind of wondering that too. I bet sealing it would make the holes less likely to fray or rip too. But I don't know what you could use that wouldn't smell very strong? I wonder if acrylic or fabric paint would work well too. Or maybe buying flowers that are already in the colors you want. You might even be able to cut out petal shapes from cloth and use them. But it might not give you the nice variation in tones color that way.

But overall very pretty! If I get around to making this, I think I will try adding a layer of contrasting colored longer petals as well to try to make it look more dramatic.
