Have you read/watched the Number 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series?

If not, I highly recommend it.

If you have, this is a mother's day card from a few years ago (my mother introduced me to the books) featuring Mma Ramotswe herself.  It is cut paper collage with white colored pencils and black pen details.

The words at the bottom say, "I love you mother" in Tswana (one of the languages of Botswana, where the story is set).  At least that's what I hope they say never can trust internet phrase guides 100%.

I loved Mma Ramotswe's outfits, and wanted to capture some of the lovely detail in the sleeves, but as you can see I was not able to get the folds to stay stuck down.  Maybe I wasn't using the right kind of glue?

Thanks for looking!

I like the 3-D effect with the sleeves. But my favorite all time glue is Loctite Multi Surface Gel. It works for darn near anything, and the bottle stores upside down in a "hopper", and the tip does not clog.

I am not familiar with the series, but I am sure you captured the character grand. I love the colors. And very neat detail for the face.

NEW REQUEST: Need quilting fabric with ONLY purple, grey, green. Solids or Prints in any combination/shades, but NO OTHER COLORS ALLOWED. HELP! They are hard to find.

I am a great fan of the books.  You have captured her just as I imagine her - with her "traditional" figure.
