This is just a simple half square triangle chevron pattern baby quilt I whipped up over a few days of on and off work for a friend of mine who lives in another state expecting her first child, a little girl Smiley

I love how bright and fun it is! Admittedly as I was putting it together I didn't know how everything would look together but when taking these pics I thought it actually looked like it was clashing but in a good way that keeps things interesting Cheesy

enjoy!

I believe you balanced the patterns quite nicely. I like the bit of black and white that sort of balances out the color. And the polka dots are FUN! Very juvenile-like, in a fun and friendly kid kind of way. Looks like you do a great job on your binding, too. Many artists fight with that step, so I have heard. There are many different ways to do it...you just have to find the way that works for you. Nice Job! I hope your friend enjoys it, and has fun with her new baby, too!

Great job, the fabrics work beautifully! Are you in the Modern Quilt Guild? Some of those look like ones we received for our recent challenge. Cheesy

That is beautiful. I like how it's not too girly. Actually, it would work for either way, boy or girl, in my book. Those are the best kinds of baby gifts to give to expecting parents. Just because the sonogram says it's a girl now doesn't mean it will come out that way. The actual zigzag quilting was done very nicely as well.

It's a guild aimed at the modern quilter, founded by some of the forerunners of the modern movement. There are lots of chapters, if you want to see if there is one near you, you can check out their website:

Chuckle, chuckle here! And you are right. Medically speaking, we all start out as girls. And the ultrasound does not always pick up everything to view. But I agree. This pattern and design could go either way...and maybe be used with the next sibling, too. Boy or girl.
