It's like I'm in a Fisher Price Little People Mafia: just when I think I'm out, they pull me back in!  This diorama ornament is for The ManFlesh's aunt who isn't a crazy cat lady, but last I heard she and her partner were fostering 16 cats (including 2 litters of kittens).  They only have 3 cats of their own.

That's her and her partner covered in cats!  I took lots of pics, because there are lots of cats (but only a dozen!) and plenty of silly, funny details.

Those little pranksters have gotten ornaments off the tree! One on the coffee table and one on the floor between the chairs!

I even got a star on top of the tree this time~

Views through the windows:

I could not get an in-focus and well-lit picture of the black one behind her chair. It's got an ornament off the tree, too!

This one is even cheekier!

I could not resist adding a tiny pink cat butt to one of them!

And view of the whole thing in the front

And a bit of how the windows look from the outside.

I still need to add a little something to make the place where the loop is inserted into the sphere look nice, but I haven't found that thing yet.  I keep thinking snow-ish, but they don't get snow where they live.  Maybe I can find a star in my stash.

How totally cute. And my black cats have pink butts. too Grin

Could you try wrapping the cord with some thin wire, for just a quarter inch or so? Like making a beauty-cuff style thing, only way smaller? Like a "Barbie bracelet" around the base of the cord. Just a thought. A large sequin might be an idea, too. You could make one from a pie plate. And aluminum will also sharpen your scissors  Grin

I love all of your Little People dioramas, but I think this one is my favorite.  Something about the combination of Christmas tree and herd of cats just makes me smile.  Smiley

Aw, thanks! I seem to be getting into a groove with them.  In this case, a cat-filled groove.

Too cute!! Just like cats. And the cat butt is perfect.

For the top, maybe a bead cap of some kind?

More inspiration:  https://www.google.com/search?q=bead+cap&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=qeGYUuC9NMX0kQfUw4B4&ved=0CFwQsAQ&biw=1920&bih=1070

You can get them at Micheal's or Joanns or online anywhere too. TONS of styles. If you slipped the cord through, you could glue the bead cap down.

Either way though, adorable!!

I dug through my sorry bead stash with hope, but didn't have anything like these or at all appropriate.  Sad  A couple days ago, I ended up cutting a part out of a paper doily place mat and gluing it down.

I didn't even know that Fisher Price had redesigned the Little People until I started making these and searching Ebay for them.  The new ones hold no charm at all for me.

I LOVE those Little People!  Those were the ones I used to play with when I was a kid.  I totally wish I could steal this ornament for myself.
