I have too much going on for round 2, but I'm glad I participated in this round- seeing what creative ideas everyone had has given me tons of brain fodder for round 3...

And finally, I really like the way you've left so much extra fabric around the edges. This is very smart, because it gives lots of room for me to finish it however I want. I wish I'd thought of that - I'm afraid I cut your page exactly to size, Heini!

I thought it would be better to leave some extra seam allowance, because I didn't know how you're going to finish it.

I'm glad you finally received, I was already mentally prepared to make you a new one.

I was out of town for the holiday so I didn't get to enjoy all the pages until we got back- what a fantastic gallery! And everyone's interpretation is so unique.  I love the gnome (a favorite of mine), also the variety of colors Angielou1 used, the house shaped pages, and the bird one.  Great start to (hopefully) many swaps to come.  Smiley off to sign up for round 2!

Love the gnome page and would like to see in person the one  Angielou1 did - it looks so interesting and full of texture.

I am hoping that my pages to playswithneedles are in her office mail box, which she can't get to until next week...they were fun to make, but I want to try new styles in the next round.

enjoy your time off--no hurry on my part!  I have already signed up for round #2 so all is well and I have some personal swaps for fabric pages going as well...

Very nice tutorial...way neater than I am, but the basic concepts are great!  Thanks for posting...I will need to take a few pictures of the old Japanese books that I have to show off the binding...the pages are printed silk...I plan to bind using the same binding.
