Hi all, I'm a newbie on here, so apologies if this has been asked before.
Am a reasonably experienced sewer, however am having a lot of problems adjusting patterns to my mid-life apple shape! If I go up to the appropriate size of my waist, the patter is ginormous around  bust and hips, and if I try to just move from one size to another around the waist it ends up looking very poorly made - any ideas or tips would be appreciated  Smiley?

for pants, I choose a pattern that fits my hips and expand the waist.
for blouses, I use one that fits in the bust, then flare it out to the hem so it floats concealingly around the trouble spot.
