I made this blanket as a gift for a friend who was super excited about the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary last week. (Shh, it's a surprise). I've never really watched the show, but I am a little familiar with it by coming across it on the internet. I know the TARDIS is some kind of time travel contraption, and that it's bigger on the inside. I've thought about watching it, but it seems a little daunting when there are FIFTY YEARS of episodes to catch up on @_@. Anyway, it seemed like it would be a fun project, so I figured I would give it a shot. I used anti-pill fleece; it's super cozy and it has a nice weight.

I hope you like it!

Amazing!!! Your friend will definitely love it Grin

If you want to start watching, I'd suggest starting with the modern series. It only started up 8 years ago (much more manageable than 50 Wink ) and it's a fantastic place to start! It's basically a re-introduction to the show, but still continuing with the original premise. It's on Netflix, too! Then, if you're feeling brave, you could go back and watch the Classics (but obviously it's a little cheesy because it started in the 60s  Smiley ) Good luck!!

Oooh, I love this, fantastic job.  I agree that you should just start watching the newer Doctor Whos, that's all you need to know what is going on.  The classic ones can be hard to find, and even as a fan I have to say some of them are pretty cheesy. Great characters, lots of action, and sometimes some pretty good social commentary.  I do warn you, if you like it, you'll be hooked for life, lol.
