I need to cut a hole in a knit dog sweater, to be able to attach the leash to her halter when it's cold out. It feels like acyrlic, so I can't just slice it and felt the edges.

I used to be a diehard knitter, so I should know how to do this, but I can't remember which of my books it's in and everytime I try to google all I get are instructions on yarn overs.  Sad

Help please? Thanks so much in advance.

It'll be something like a buttonhole, or look up 'steek'. You'll have to prepare the area first by stitching around it so it doesn't unravel.
