Mare--I am not sure I would use Amy Butler fabric for this type of quilt...only because the original print does get lost and we know how much AB fabric can cost!

It seems that pretty ugly fabrics work best for these...the book I have explains the best type of fabrics to use...since you are not really focusing on any pattern in the fabric, not really fussy cutting at all...lot of folding...and matching to make the SAME cuts...but you can use a lot of the fabric...I would save the AB fabric to feature the prints, not disguise them.

Well I actually bought it specifically for a Stack and Whack because it has the correct size of repeats. I think it will work! Who knows when I will get around to it though. AB fabric doesn't cost any more than any other designer fabric.
