A friend asked me to make my Dr Who Weeping Angel doll into a larger version that she could use as a tree topper. I  thought that was a fabulous idea! I can just see the tree decorated with red bow ties, Tardis, Dalek and Adipose ornaments all over it! Fun!

Instead of making her lower body of trapezoids all sewn together and stuffed, I attached her torso to a paper mache cone, and hot glued her dress around the bottom.

What a great idea.  I love Doctor Who, and I could totally imagine a Doctor Who Christmas tree topped with a weeping angel.  I'd be afraid to turn out the lights at night Smiley

That is just too awesome! I adore Dr Who and what a great thing to have on the top of your tree as I am not a big fan of angels in general, but a Dr Who weeping angel, that is a different story!

Wonderful work! I bet your friend is thrilled! The weeping angel has so many great details - did you quilt the wings? You found such a perfect fabric, too!

Yes. The wings are quilted, using an applique stitch. The first smaller doll I made was quilted using just a straight stitch. I like this effect better.
