I used a dollar store pool noodle for the base, I wrapped it with strips of corrugated cardboard- (actually a pizza box from last week's dinner, I tore off the printed side of the box and cut the box into 1/2" strips)   the flowers were made from pistachios shells, then painted with diluted acrylic paint for a translucent effect and finished off with a handful of artificial leaves.

Wowsy wow. I just rocked you! This project is great, and who would ever guess that it came from "garbage"! I say that in a good friendly re-cycle way! What a genious idea! I love the different flower colors you dyed with, and the multitude of sizes for them, as well. They look very "natural". I believe that was what you were wishing with this one. And you struck it "right on!"

It's beautiful!
I especially love the flowers.
(Have been thinking about saving up pistachios shells, to use for crafting, but my house is already stuffed with crafting materials. Now I will just have to save them.)

pistachio shells?  seriously?  Teag, you are my garbage hero!!!

You must divulge how those are made! Is there a base? Glued on?

Fabulous job...unfortunately, each time I see one of your projects, I get caught digging through the trash can...I just threw out those shells from hubby's waste can last night, and now I have to get them back or else get him another bag!! Grin

@stillatthetop Thanks so much- I love turning trash into treasure

@BeaG Thanks Bea! Glad to add to your crafting supplies!

@alwaysinmyroom I swear your are my biggest fan! I am so Happy to inspire you.the bases are cardboard(of course) circles and the shells are attached with hot glue (I have a hot glue pot called "little dipper") I Start in the center and work out, dipping the bottoms of the shells in the hot glue.

@sabrinalouisemiller, @HSG, @ninjanator, @MareMare  Thank you all so much
