I'm excited to make my first post on Craftster!

I made a Long Homecoming Mum for a colleague's daughter!

The seconded Mum I made this year was a Wrist Mum for a friend!

I've never heard of a Mum before! They look so celebratory and fun. I love all of the ribbons and braids that you did. What is the white part made of?

I love them! They look great! It's very clear that you are a fellow Texan.

I made my mums for the freshmen I had for band when I was a senior. I had a blast making them, and put little green army men in the center! I love the color of yours, they're fantastic!

What is the white part made of?

The white part is the Mum Flower. It is an artificial flower that can now come in different colors and can be purchased at your local (Texas) craft stores (Michaels and Hobby Lobby).

Welcome to Craftster!  Your mums look fantastic -- you did a great job on them!

You should go introduce yourself on the Newbie board!  Up at the yellow measuring tape on top of the screen, click on "Community", and then "Miscellaneous Topics" from the large list of forums.  Scroll down a bit to find the "Craftalongs" board, and then up near the top you will see the "Newbie Craftalong" where you can post an introduction and say hi to everyone.  This is also a good place to post projects if you don't want to start a whole new topic thread, or are not sure where to post something on the site.

It can be a little confusing to navigate at the beginning, but I hope you will find that Craftster is full of friendly and supportive people.  Smiley

I remember those days. I think I have a couple boutineers around somewhere. Your next project should be a double mum, or the fabled gigantic tri-mum!
