She has such amazing monsters.

Idea, kwality570....write a children's book. These drawings are so fun and friendly. I can help you think up the words and titles. You can just illustrate.

Monsters do not go under your bed. There, your first title. And we could include little stuffies with the book. Cheesy I would bet we could sell the heck out of these.

They are so adorable.

That monster is adorable!  He looks like he's trying very hard to be scary.   Cheesy

Thank you for the sweet words on the monster, guys!  I'm so glad you like it, fancybutch!!!

My favorite part about this particular piece is that I used some of my stencils from my gelli plate in the background.  I think that the stencils are sometimes more fun looking after a day of playing than the papers are. Smiley

Stillatthetop - I'll definitely look you up for a children's book collaboration someday. Wink

Dfabbric - Is that an advent calendar set too?

Ludi - Your piece is wonderful as always.  I'm in awe of your skill and patience.

Ludi, your embroidery skills never cease to amaze me. It's a stunning piece and quite large too, which means even more work. It is beautiful with theblack tree and words over(or under?) the white embroidery and a very realistic eye. You are going to make me try embroidery again.

kwality570, this monster looks very friendly and quite adorable although mischievous. Did you paint it with acrylics over canvas?

Thank you!  Youpidoo, you should try it again.  You know I don't use any kind of fancy stitch, just various sizes of straight stitches.  Lots of them.   Wink

I started with a canvas, put down dictionary pages using acrylic medium, then I painted on acrylics for the background. The circles and shapes are acetate stencils that I've used for my gelli plate that have gotten paint all over them - I love the messy painterly look they get.  The monsters I create in Illustrator, then print and paint or use colored markers, etc. then I cut them out and glue them on.  I used some foam sticker tab things on the back to make the monster a little raised on this one.  I thought it would be cuter, but wasn't sure it would make it in the mail.  I'm glad it did.  Smiley

There's stuff in the gallery! Great stuff! Wow!  Shocked

A package came for me in the mail yesterday so now I get to add the super-see-duper pillowcase I got from StickerChic87!

Vintage travel! We agreed to swap pillowcase this time around and provided each other with theme suggestions. Sticker knows I love vintage travel anything and, though some of my favorite colors are bright and warm, I do have a very soft spot for neutrals. This is a perfect pillowcase for me!

Just look at the quilting and her fabric choices! Awesome. The back is brown and closes envelope-style.

Thank you so much, Sticker! I love what you made for our small but, so far, wonderful swap. I hope you like what I made for you all right! It'll be going out shortly.

Thanks again!

YAY! The goodies are coming in!  Everything is great so far!

nix kisses - love the apron and that retro garland is quite awesome!

yoopidou and Dfabbric - love the advent calendar goodies idea - so much fun to open them one by one!

ludi - totally amazing embroidery!  I can't tell but are the text and branches just another color thread or are they negative space?

kwality570 - just adore your monsters!!

sticker - the vintage travel fabric is just perfect on that pillow!

Looking for a vintage magazine (1974 - 1978) that has a fabric nativity set w/ people and animals. An example: http://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=440861&ppuser=143144.
