So, my daughter is a total Doctor Who nut. Even more so than her older brother, but nowhere near as crazy for the show as my husband and I Tongue So when i asked her what she wanted her costume to be this year, she shouted "TARDIS!"

And geek parent pride bubbled over.

So of course I wanted to make her not only a TARDIS outfit, but also something she would want to wear again. So I designed and made a poofy-bum blue TARDIS princess dress for her and she proudly adorns it at every opportunity and much to my joy has caused many an envious stare whilst at the shops!

Inspired by the gorgeous period dress in the episode "The Doctor's Wife", original design on the fly by me, fabric and notions from Spotlight.

N.B. It's a warm spring over here at this time of year, thus the no sleeves  Wink

TARDIS!!

Hullo Cheesy

All the little details: quilting cotton, soft tulle, elastic in the back, lace, paint pens

"yay, Mummy!!" (or so i assume... lol)

Aww. What a cutie. I bet she felt like a little princess in it! Great job! I love the ruffles. And it looks like it fits neat, and doesn't cause those fitting problems with the straps dropping, and such! She looks like she had a good Halloween! Wonderful! You are a great Mommy for making this for her.  Grin

Thank you all!

Yes, I have taken to attaching all her straps that way, it totally avoids them slipping off her wee shoulders Smiley
