So this year I made my costume and I was super excited with the results. This is my costume:

I was the Angry Piñata. I would hit random people with my whacking stick and then give them candy from my Piñata purse.

To make the dress I got a long tank top from Walmart and cute a slit up the back. I attached ribbons to tie it onto myself. I tried up the ribbons and then slid the shirt over a board to stretch it out so I could hot glue the crepe paper streamers to it.

For the ears I bought plush cat ears and cut them up so I could move them up higher since equine ears are pretty much on the tops of their heads. I then reattached the ears by sewing them back on and then wrapped them all up in crepe paper and attached crepe paper tassels.

For the whacking stick I used a empty roll of gift wrap and stuffed it with paper. I then duct taped the handle and the seam so it wouldn't split when I hit people. I hot glued on many layers of crepe paper.

The Piñata purse was the best part. I basically made the whole thing by hand. I traced the body design onto cardboard and then duct taped in cardboard in between to make the body stand. I modge podged on brown kraft paper in several layers for strength and duct taped the handles for stability. I then hot glued on the crepe paper.

I wish I had taken pictures of my process but I always forget to do so while crafting. I promise I will get better at that when I post new projects. I'm just super excited that the first craft I posted was for this contest!

I thought of making myself a pinata costume but was worried people might hit me. You got the best idea with your own stick and pinata purse! Smiley

Thank you very much ^_^ I am really pleased with how well it came out and it held up really well all night. I only lost a couple of the long streamers hanging from the top.

As for being hit, I was surprised no one actually did try. However, people were quite keen on getting whacked and getting blow pops XD hehe!

Great idea. I love your attention to details. I love the colors. I love the idea. Well, I could go on, but LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this. I rocked you. You did a wonderful job. I hope you win the entry. And get a prize.

Your purse is probably the best I have seen. Not in a purse sort of way, but just so you could stow the candy! You did both trick {with your stick} and treat {with the purse!} Too fun. I need to Halloween with you people next year!

Wow thank you so very much; that is quite a compliment, stillatthetop!

I really love the purse too. It was by far the best part of my costume.

I was able to find a couple of pic when I was making it. I wish I had taken pic of the later stages, but I remembered to snap a few at the beginning

I wanted to show that he was just made from plain old cereal boxes XD

Here he is all taped up and ready to get on his colorful paper coat.

I'm going to have to remember to take more pictures as I craft. I akways forget to do that.

I love that you just ducktaped and hotglued it all together and it all came out incredibly cute. I would have forgotten to stretch the fabric out before hot-gluing and ruined the whole thing. Smiley

Great job!
