Check out Kangaskhan!

This was originally made for the London MCM Comic con, which was last weekend, but as it was also intended to be worn on Halloween night to hand out sweets to trick or treaters - and I did not start making it until the second week in October - I hope it is eligible to be entered into this challenge.

Normally when I make a costume I take loads of photos of all the stages, but as I started this one much much later than usual, I only have a few. The head was made out of camping mat foam and the inside of the mouth is covered in black mesh; to make it look darker but also to allow for decent visibility. Below are pictures of the head, both plain fleece and with the details added.

But it wouldn't be Kangaskhan without the baby, so I made that too. It was 95% hand stitched and 5% machine stitched, and also made out of fleece. the facial features were attached with a hot glue gun. Below are pictures of the body, the body with everything stitched on, and the final finished plush.

Here is the costume when I unpacked it in my hotel room. The body is fleece and the pouch was made out of camping mat foam, stitched into the suit itself, with elastic around my waist and hips to keep it in place.

And here are some pictures of the finished costume in action.

Thank you for looking at my costume. I hope you like it x
