I made my son Raiden's Plague Doctor costume this year.  The mask had a base of safety goggles, with a vinyl mask built on top of it that was fastened together with rivets and some sewing.  The eye holes were covered with black nylons and an old belt made up the mask straps.  The lantern was made from cardboard, with tracing paper window, an old broom handle, and a hanger.  His cape was made from leftover crafting fabric we had around the house.

Scholars and artists...differ most importantly in the way their knowledge is come by.  Scholars get theirs with conscientious thoroughness along projected lines of logic; poets...stick to nothing deliberately, but let what will stick to them like burrs where they walk in the fields.

Our son was thrilled that his dad made him such a creepy costume!  He rejected so many costume ideas because they weren't scary enough for him.  Roll Eyes He saw a Plague Doctor mask, thought it was super freaky looking & finally decided he found something spooky enough to be his costume!
