My daughter wanted to be Alice.  I sewed the costume & apron, and made her a cheshire cat from a foam ball, striped t-shirt, and card stock for the face.

Here is my whole crew together, all handmade, but the Alice costume is the one I am entering for this craft challenge.

The cat is so great...you really made the character your own, yet it is completely recognizable. Alice is perfect! You see so many that are all frou frou...but with the psychedelic cat on her shoulder, it's a great contrast. Awesome work!

Beware the plague doctor, he really scares me! Smiley

Thank You!  She wanted a creepy element to her costume, so we came up with the idea of adding the Cheshire cat.  I was really stumped with how I was going to work it in to the costume, but I ended up figuring it out after a great deal of pondering.  The only bummer was that it poured rain all Halloween night, so no one really got to see her costume when she went trick-or-treating Sad  My son wanted to the freakiest costume possible, and was thrilled with the plague doctor get-up my husband made for him.  Definitely the scariest costume we saw while we were out!

It poured the rain here too, so trick or treating is tonight...thankfully.

Your husband did an epic job on the plague doctor...it freaks me out almost as much as the weeping angels in Dr. Who.  Cheesy

I hit 'this rocks' on both of your projects. Good luck in the challenge.

All the costumes are great and your kids are adorable.

I love Alice and I love the simplicity of her dress. She wore a simple dress, and I don't really care for the ornate versions I've seen. Very well done!

Thanks!  We watched the Disney cartoon Alice in Wonderland together a bunch of times and that is the Alice she wanted to look like!
