This art jewelry piece is a leather neck cuff with an inlayed etched copper medallion and pyrography of common nighthawks.

I still have trouble taking good pictures of both the copper and pyrography. The cat was not helping.

that is lovely, I first thought the centre was also burned leather.  Did you leave the leather undyed?

Onyxnox- I left the leather undyed. I did not have any dye and I have never dyed leather so I was too chicken to try it out on this piece. I rubbed it down with Renaissance wax, which tinted it a little bit but not much. I wish it was a little bit darker.

What a lovely piece! The birds are very cool looking. I love that they're not in the same pose on both sides. It kind of gives the illusion they're moving.
