I don't think the USPS lets feathers leave the country. I mailed one and they pulled it while holding up the package for a month. I am guessing it is because of mites. I read that a lot of feathers we get here like from the craftstore or the ones added into retail goods are made in China and chemically treated so that would make sense. I use lavender, orange, chrysanthemum, and Burt's Bees baby powder. Be jealous, my birds get more spa time than the people.  Roll Eyes

Hmm, I wonder how they knew the feather was in there? I can understand the mite concern as well as the risk of other pathogens, though frankly I'm surprised that customs can find a feather when they seem to have a hard time finding whole live animals that slip through every year.

And in truth, I am a little jealous of your birds! Smiley

I'm happy enjoying those feathers here in the gallery as well... better than having cards stuck at the PO for months!  Shocked

I received two cards from Mariak.  She claimed me twice for the themes Christmas and an Art Journal page!  Smiley  They're great, thank you!   Smiley

And I received a bird themed card from Helcura.   She made a sweet little owl for me and a beautiful card and envelope too.   It's great, thank you!   Smiley

Have not seen this in the gallery yet... think Issikahjai is having camera issues.
I chose her French Vocab theme and saw that she was also interested in tats/mehndi. I called this card "Mehndi at the nursing home"

I received a card for my yarn theme today from faemystique.  She made an abstract art piece that she both glued and melted yarn to the card.   She also sent along some extra papers.  Thank you!    Smiley

CDEeek - I LOVE the corkboard style back of your Bray card - that is so cool.

Mariak - The design of both of your cards is great - so clean and charming.

blu - your moveable house is fantastic!

kosmicgirl - your lady with antlers is so serene!

Everyone  - you are all so amazing!  This was an awesome month!

Oooh the beast from Bray Road... I have heard this legend on TV.  I am from far NW Wisconsin and haven't been to Elk Horn... We have stories about the Hairy Man... otherwise known as Bigfoot.

I was watching one of those "monster hunting" shows, and one of the people in the Bray Road section was describing what he saw and they CGIed what he had seen. When he said where he saw it, it was right down the road from us(which is a considerable way away from Elkhorn)! If I saw that out on one of our hikes, I'd probably pass out, lol.

Personally, I think it could be an animal with mange, but you never know. They discover new species all the time.
