this idea just popped into my head late late late last night.  and I'm so happy with the outcome.  Grin

and a closeup of the watch face:

I had bought the watch new, but it was on sale for like $5.  Grin  I got it and another one just for this reason.  I was having a tough time trying to figure out what to put inside since I only have access to what I have on hand (which isn't a whole lot since I'm getting into mixed media and stuff pretty late.  I mean, I've only been collecting stuff for this style for not even 2 years.  and I'm being picky with what I'm collecting).  the watch movement didn't fit in there very well since it's smaller than the backing, but I used some antique bronze beads and glued them around the edge.  now it fits in there perfectly.  you can kinda see them in the upper right hand corner of the face.  I also added some crystals to holes and spaces where tiny gears and whatnot used to be.  the dangles are a crystal drop (that I actually do have more of.  I'm just stupid), a key, and a piece of real quartz.

thank you!!  Grin

I like eclectic looking stuff, so I knew I had to make this in that fashion.  as for the chain, I have no clue where I got it.  it's just been in my stash for as long as I can remember.  but I love it too.  Cheesy  makes me wish I had more of it.

I seriously love this thing. Now I want to dig through my random bits and see what I can piece together Cheesy
I really like how it looks like it was made from found things, as if it was made in a post-apocalyptic world.

yeah, and I just happened to find a box of rhinestones that exploded.  totally explains where they came from.  lol.  but you should totally do it!!!  it's so fun if you're not anal and a perfectionist like me!!!  I adore the look of mixed media and collage, but to do it myself actually causes me a bit of stress.  everything is perfect, it's not balanced, it's not a mirror image, etc.  so things like this, the turquoise bracelet, and the cut out book were hard for me to do.  Undecided  but I'm pushing through.
