Apti and I should be out doing something today, since it rebounded from a wind chill of -35 on Monday to a high of over 50 today, but we're all still sick here, so it's another day of laying around the house.  Haven't gotten out to do much in the last two weeks because of it, but there's some events coming up soon!

It's hilarious that it's supposed to warm up in FL now.. because my Alaska friend who was there just left. I've been jokingly blaming the whole polar vortex thing on him.
LOL Well there clearly is no other explanation for it. I mean, a polar vortex impacting all the way down here? LOL It warmed back up but now it's getting a little cooler/back to slightly below average again this week.

Speaking of ice (not really but I needed a segue) not sure if you like hockey but we just scored tickets to an NHL game next Saturday! The Tampa Bay Lightning are hosting the San Jose Sharks and we've got awesome seats like 12 rows off the ice! So Willow will be joining us for that next weekend. Grin

We took Wuudy to Annapolis which is a beautiful place to visit when it isn't raining. We were going to a Lego First Tech Challenge robotics qualifier at the US Naval Academy. I thought we might have problems at security since they wanted everyone to have ID but I guess Wuudy must have looked trustworthy enough because they let him pass right through. We barely left the hall we were in because the rain was pouring down but it was fun being at the qualifier.

Teehee! I'm glad Wuddy was able to sneak in!

Last week, we were finally able to explore the city hall holiday decorations right before they took them down!

Sorry this is slightly late! On Sunday we went to our local chain craft shop - Hobby craft, it is about a 40 minute drive from here, so I always end up spending too much money as we don't go very often! Anyhow here is a pic of Anuenue outside - forgive my husbands arm!!

All of SE Alaska is being hammered by a storm right now, here in Sitka a landslide took out a house and everything is flooding. So far here in town we've had just over 4" of rain since midnight Tongue That on top of all the snow it melted up in the mountains made for a lot of flooding pretty much everywhere in town.

So we turned around during our hike when we reached the waterfall, it was up to a deafening roar and the bridge was trembling. Clyde posed for a quick photo before we retreated

Some more of the flooding -

Hopefully the rain will let up a little soon and we can get out and see more sights Smiley

Woah! Landslides and flooding are bad. Stay safe!!

Hi guys! Here's an update that's been a while! Sorry I've been so busy here with summer and heat and doctor's and health and getting ready for next month. I think next month if it works will make up for my lack of communication! Anyway!

We have been trying to stay cool here, this week it will be up near the 40c mark and I hate that amount of heat. So we've been shopping, watching movies (We watched Frozen! hehe) And making ice teas and things. Also lots of forms for next month are being done.

This photo is one of an (upsidedown) map of the big bay in the capital city of the state I live in (I live in a very outermost suburb of the outer city). It was very Sandy but on this walk on the cliffs was information about the town so we took a few photos of various bits and pieces of history

And here we are near some rock pools where we found a funny little blue and orange Star Fish. Poppy thought it looked more like a spider but friendlier. We didn't disturb him though.

Love that starfish! I'm always amazed at how much more colorful the sea creatures are in warmer climates. Same with seashells... ours seem so bland Tongue
