Haven't had a day off since my daughter was born in June. I always try to squeeze in some sewing but it rather stresses me out.
Otherwise we have quite a lot museums around that we like to visit whenever we have time. I also enjoy meeting my friends to play board games - all day long Smiley

Day off.. a toss-up between -- lying in bed reading til 11 am with a cuppa then blowing the whole rest of the day as well doing whatever piddling little thing catches my attention.
and --- smushing as many exciting things into the day as possible... canoeing then cycling then hiking with a picnic lunch at the top, then swimming or tubing then supper cooked over an open firepit, then a few too many over tales and laughter then one last OMG what was that sound, then off to bed in a tent.

Apti was horrified when he thought the 50 was in Celsius, then he was horrified when he realized the 17 was in Fahrenheit... oh, the joys of unit conversion!  He was momentarily excited when they said we might have snow (though no accumulation) but it's really just turned into a really dismal cold rain.  I think bundling up and reading is the order of things tonight!

Q: what is your favorite thing to do on a day off from school/work/usual activities?
One of the things I like to do is hit Disney or an art show. Conveniently, this lets me segue into the Festival of the Masters show in Downtown Disney we went to over the weekend! Grin

The Festival of the Masters is a really awesome annual show where only the best of the best get to be featured. Everyone there has to win an award in a juried art show just to apply! Located in Downtown Disney, it's part of the Walt Disney World resort, but it's not a park. It's like an open-air mall with tons of shops, dining, entertainment, etc. So we took in the art show and all the sights as well.

Wow! That looks like a lot of fun!

We went to McDonald's for a playdate for my son, which isn't really noteworthy except that our McDonald's has an amazing view! That's Mt Edgecumbe, our local dormant volcano

And Clyde saw one of the many ferries on the Alaska Marine Highway, the MV Taku pulling in to Sitka

Marine Highway sounds so exotic! I mean, we have tons of water around here but we don't have marine highways! Cheesy The scenery is quite beautiful.

with 2 young children I don't get 'day off' as such, although we have an agreement that I have a lie in on Saturday morning, and DH has one on Sunday, to give us a chance to catch up on lost sleep (after being kept awake for a couple of hours in the middle of the night last night, I will need it this week!) or have some extra time to chill and read Smiley
For some reason it even seems that if we go out for the day (Nation Railway Museum in York is a favourite) the day is harder work than if we'd stayed at home :/

I am being a bit of a nightmare. I took Anuenue away with me for the weekend but forgot to get any photos except for one of her on my hotel bed! I am now needing to spend time in bed recovering so am not doing anything with her! I will try to be better with her when I am able to get up again (I have ME so need to take things easy as much as possible.

In answer to the question as I am unemployed I don't have days off per say, so I'll answer for the Times when I am well and husband is not working and that is to go to the zoo!! =)

Jimmie the lobster finally arrived yesterday!
After his two weeks journey he was quite exhausted. We found a cozy place for him on the window sill between gourds, leaves, buckeyes and candles to keep him warm. He immediately made friends with Mr. Pumpkin.

Right now he's taking a nap with Emma - she was all pumped and tired out so Jimmie was kind enough to sing her to sleep which obviously made him fall asleep himself Smiley
