She came in a little sleeping bag but was interested in something I had made based on a picture my niece and nephew had drawn and explained to me. I give you Poppy in the Rabbit Safety seat.

I had some left over duct tape from halloween so thought I could make it for her. They had drawn the picture last weekend explaining that it was to keep a rabbit safe in her journeys, like a seat on a ride. The cool thing is the left over duct tape helped me figure out a way to make their second idea work. The seat glows in the dark so Poppy can always be found and have a nightlight in case she is scared to sleep (their words!)

Aww Smiley How thoughtful of your niece and nephew!

Aww that's so sweet of your niece and nephew to be looking out for her like that! How old are they? A rabbit safety seat is a very good idea, I might have to make something similar for Bean so she can be safe when travelling in my car (she's so small that the lap part of the seatbelt would probably completely cover her, meaning she couldn't see a thing!)

I didn't know that glow-in-the-dark duct tape existed! :O. The duct tape craze definitely hasn't caught on over here yet, we still only get the boring, standard colours (black, silver and sometimes white).

Wow, that IS rocky! So different from Florida. Here, it's all white sand beaches. (You'll see them eventually! LOL) The starfish is so cute!!

The bunny safety basket is adorable too. I love that it glows in the dark. Ha!

I'm still waiting for Jimmie to arrive. He has been on his way for quite a while now and I assume he must be very tired and hungry by now. I hope he arrives soon!

Willow wanted to get a peek of Florida so we wandered around my apartment complex a bit this afternoon getting familiar with his new winter home for the next few months!

My building backs up to a preserve so here's the view from the 3rd floor looking down at it.

Poolside!

Hibiscus flower blooming. Most of the plants have been cut back for the cooler weather, but there was still this one, lovely flower in full bloom!

Some of the many, many, MANY palm trees around here. Grin

As always, larger pics on the blog: http://willow-in-fl.blogspot.com/2013/11/welcome-to-florida.html

Q: Do you have any plans (trips, events, whatever) planned for the upcoming months while your Little Visitor is around?  Please share!

Hmm, we don't have any trips planned, but that doesn't mean it won't happen.  I LOVE the holidays and its fun to have a visitor around during that time.  Girl Scout cookie sales start in January and so he'll get to have tons of fun with lots of little girls! Heh.

Anuenue arrived yesterday. I meant to get some photos of her but completely ran out of time! She helped me with my jewellery making, and was so helpful I made her a little necklace too.

In response to the question we are going away today, Derbyshire tonight, then South Shields (Tyne and Wear about 5 hours away which may not be far for our American friends, but is a long long way for us in tiny UK! ) then back to Derbyshire on Sunday and home on Monday (I have ME and long journeys really take it out of me, so some lovely friends suggested we stay with them which splits the journey into two 3 hour journeys. Which also means I get the opportunity to see them of course. Long story short in my early twenties (about ten years ago) I had a mental breakdown and was suicidal, self harming and in and out of the mental health ward in hospital. During this time I made friends with her online and she was so supportive, at a time in my life when all my supposed close friends were deserting me, she was the guardian angel who stepped in and despite having only just met me honestly saved my life. I had only actually met her twice, but she was invited to my wedding earlier this year and felt like family!) Something tells me that come Tuesday I am going to be bedridden!!!
Then we are going to Worcester for Christmas and then Chirk (in Wales) for new year to spend time with both sets of parents. That is all for now but I also plan to take her to our local zoo one day and to a Christmas market another day. We may not do much else as my ME prevents me doing too much but she will have plenty of friends here (two dogs, two cats, three rats and countless stuffed toys!) I will even try to persuade my husband to take her to work one day and get some photos of the commute (2 hours by train commute!) and hopefully some shots around his work place on his lunch break. I may also be going to another part of London in the new year so will take her there too. We are going to have fun.
