And I LOVE the banyan trees. If only they weren't so darn big, he could bring one home as a souvenir! lol
LOL Yeah, Florida is one of the only places they will grow in the US due to our subtropical climate! I think Alaska is a tiny bit too cold. Cheesy

The day after we arrived it started snowing and the winds picked up and it stayed that way the entire visit. It stayed around 20F but when you added the wind chill from 30-40 mph winds and 60mph gusts it was just too cold to go explore with my two year old in tow.
Um, BRR!!!  Shocked Very pretty scenery though!! And we got your postcard! Grin

Meanwhile, right before Christmas things got really hectic with last minute everything. Heh. So once again, I'm playing catch-up posting Willow's pictures. He's been busy helping out, just haven't had time to tell everyone about all his adventures! Wink

First, members of previous rounds will recall our (very ironic) permanent indoor ice skating rink in the local mall. Had to run over there for something a few days before Christmas and snapped a shot:

Next up, is my all-day cookie baking marathon!

And then, Willow took a closer look at our Disney Christmas village under the tree:

Next up - Christmas day itself!

Christmas Day!! Willow got a cool Santa coat for Christmas and wore it for the day.

We hit two households for the holiday. First we go to Love's cousin's house about an hour away waaaaay out in the country.

They have a horse and a barn!

After brunch, we went to my Mom's house for dinner.

Her tiny little tree!

We ate out on her back patio. You can see it's all green and sunny and my sister is wearing shorts! Grin

And...bringing us to current, here's pics from today (well, Saturday since it's after midnight as I post this) of our quick tour through Sunken Gardens. Created in 1903 by a plumber and enthusiast gardener, they are now owned by the City of St. Petersburg as a historic landmark. Extremely lush and tropical, the Gardens are really pretty to tour and a great spot for taking photos.

It was overcast today but you can see how lush and green all the tropical plants are even at the end of December down here in Florida!

Georgie and I completed a very important errand yesterday: picking up my wedding dress!

On the blog: http://georgieinvb.blogspot.com/2013/12/wedding-dress.html

Also, my New Year's resolution is to not be super late getting Christmas presents together next year (like I was this year)... so I've already started. I'm cross-stitching something for everyone (which I've wanted to do for years but never started early enough). And I've already begun the first one. (If I do one per month, skipping March for the wedding, I'll be done by Christmas!) Here's Georgie helping with my dad's gift:

(If you're trying to read it, it's Cave Johnson's lemons speech from Portal 2... "When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade. Make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your damn lemons! What am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life's manager! Make life rue the day it thought it could give me lemons! Do you know who I am? I'm the man who's going to burn your house down! With the lemons! I'm going to get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!" We're up to the word "rue" so far.)

Alexampersandra, I LOVE THAT QUOTE! And kudos for starting your gifting process early. I have been known to procrastonate, too. And kick myself every time as well.

That is a very pretty dress. I am glad that you and Georgie had a wonderful outing. That must have been a very exciting trip. Hope your wedding turns out lovely.  Grin

Haha, we've been careful about his eyes... they're doing okay so far. I have a pencil case that is EXACTLY the right size for him that he hangs out in when he needs to be in my purse, so that's helping.  Cheesy

do you have any New Years Resolutions or hopes/plans for 2014?

Usually I don't have any resolultions since I don't stick to them anyway. This time though I intend to eat and cook healthier.

Resolutions - to stick with the progress I have made so far for much-sought-after sanity, never go a day without meditating (I get really cranky when I miss it...) and when I come across someone who makes me cringe, I need to pay closer attention and not run away, as I believe there is something they can teach me.
