I was asked to make an Edward Gorey inspired cake for a friend who's son turns one today and got pretty excited about it. The frosting was not as thick as usual because I didn't have enough sugar to stiffen it (how does one run out of confectioner's sugar?!) so I had to revamp the design. Luckily he is only a year old and can't quite critique it.
