I saw this project idea and knew I wanted to make this for my daughter's bedroom.  All I needed to make this was a board I got at the local Lowes, black paint marker, # stencils which I found online, and a yardstick.  Enjoy!

Oh, cool.  And on the back, you could mark the kids' height and age, and have something to take with you to different houses instead of marking up one doorway and then having to move away and leave those little milestones!

I thought this was a real ruler, you did such a great job in your re-creation.  A cool idea, for memories for years to come.  I like the idea of permanently marking it with your child's growth, but I would put it on the front, in different colours.
